He started his professional career in 1991 at Banco Popular in the development of the incipient Corporate Banking Group. Later he joined Deutsche Bank within the same Large Companies area, called GCI to later get involved in the Deutsche Bank Institutional Portfolio Management project, a subsidiary in Spain of DB Suisse that gave rise to the Private Banking and Asset Management unit. In 1999, he founded Blacksmith, as an independent management search and business consulting firm within the financial sector, which has positioned as a benchmark in the Asset Management, Wealth Management and Capital Markets sectors in Spain as well as in Latin America and Switzerland. He has advised more than 150 firms both in the search for executives and directors and in processes of transformation, reorganization and strategic business approach. Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Salamanca, MBA European Business School and Master in Human Resources.

He holds a degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and Commercial Technician State Economist. He has held some top positions at the Spanish Administration between 1984 and 1997, in the General Directorate of Treasury and Financial Policy, in the General Directorate of Insurance and in the National Energy Commission. He worked as a General Director at BNP Paribas business banking between 1998 and 2016. He has been a member of several Boards of Directors in private and public companies. At present, he works as a Director at Sareb and Lyntia. He is Director in a number of media outlets, Capital Radio included.

He holds a Law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid.

He has held several senior management positions such as President of General Electric, or Ezentis and CEO of Grupo Llorente.

He is also patron of CEDE Foundation (The Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives).

He has received numerous awards such as Best Manager of the Year or the Executive Leadership award.

Nowadays, he is an Independent Advisor at Bankinter Consumer Finance, an Advisor of the Global Infrastructure Partners fund among others, President of Palex Medical and Member of the Advisory Board of Blacksmith.

At his inception, he was part of AB Asesores as a partner and Director of Fixed Income and responsible for the Institutional Business. After 12 years, he joined the Santander Group to set up the Private Banking area as a CEO at Santander Wealth, a position that he developed for three years and further on he joined Banco Banif as a General Director for the following 12 years. Within the Santander Group, he developed the Asset Management business in the USA (Boston). In 2014, he joined Bankinter Asset Management as President.
